Vimala Raman has spent the last four years working in Chennai and commuting between India and Australia, where her family resides. She hasn't been able to see her parents since the outbreak began. “I haven't seen my parents in over a year and a half. For a long time, Covid-19 has kept me apart from my family,” the actress recalls, adding that being alone during the lockdown was frightening at first. “However, the fact that I am a cheerful person assisted me during these trying times,” she said. She explains, "I retained my sanity and stayed strong."
